About
Hi, I’m Elle.
I’m the owner of Dog Days Pie Stand, a bakery operating in Des Moines.
Dog Days is an ode to late summer when the pie fruits are juicy and the Iowa State Fair is in full swing. With a whole lotta blue ribbons under my belt, I now provide delicious pies, hand pies, and other butter-filled goodies at local pop-ups and made to order.
Each Dog Days delicacy is made to order completely from scratch, filled to the brim with fresh fruit or homemade creams and custards.
Reach out to say hello. 🐾
FAQs
How do I order a pie?
Easter pre-orders are available at the Easter tab on the navigation bar. See our social media pages for details on upcoming events.
What about allergens and dietary restrictions?
All allergens are listed on each pie’s label.
All Dog Days pies are vegetarian, but unfortunately I can’t at this time offer vegan, dairy-free, or gluten-free options. There are lots of great Des Moines bakers who do, so give it a Google or reach out and I will point you in the right direction!
How big are the pies?
Each pie comes in a 9-inch pan and feeds 6-8 people. Hand pies are 3”x4”.
How do I pay for my pie?
Pre-ordered pies will be processed through Squarespace Payments. In-person purchases can be made with cards, tap to pay, cash, or Venmo.
How long will my pie stay fresh?
While all pie is best enjoyed the day you receive it, sometimes you have to save some for later. Fruit pies are typically fresh when kept covered on a counter for 3-4 days and can be frozen. Cream pies are fresh for 2-3 days kept covered in the fridge and do not hold up well when frozen.
